If we'd been looking for a solution that "works out of the box", to distribute zines, videos and rad Podcasts over wifi in an off grid environment, what would you use? (It should be possible to run with help of a 5V powerbank)

:boosts_ok:
piratebox / librarybox come to mind but it is not out of the box.
You mean, like, setting up an SSID and redirecting to a local HTTPS where said media is available? Don't know about any turnkey solutions off hand, but something like a Raspberry Pi Zero W should get you a long way I think.
Not wifi, but itnreminds me in USB solution like https://deaddrops.com

development is dead but as long as forum/binaries are acessible the piratebox is worth to try. My (almost 10 yo) piratebox fleet :
Maintainer of biblebox wrote 2020:
"It’s taken me over a Year to finally write this Post, but I’m now able to let things go……The BibleBox is no longer a project I have the time or funds to continue developing and will become unsupported by me."
you have an advice which app to use for offgrid file sharing?
There's trebleshot that seems to be nice.
